Robert E. Lee was born in Stafford, Virginia on the 19th of January, 1807. Robert E. Lee was the fourth son of the Colonel Henry Lee and Ann Hill Carter. Robert E Lee served under Infield Scott in the US Army and saw action in the Mexican War 1846-1848 where he won three brevets for gallantry.
In 1859 Robert E. Lee led the company of U.S. Marines that captured John Brown at Harper's Ferry in October. In the spring of 1962 Robert E. Lee volunteered and selected the company that he wished to join, the Rockbridge Artillery. Robert E. Lee got the approval and they wrote him to Richmond where Robert E. Lee would get his outfit.
